This man and his wife are responsible for the murder of Mrs.Maya Jain, a 48 year mother of two, who was a much loved and respected member of the Kisumu (Kenya) community. Mrs.Jain was also recently installed as the Lions Club Chairperson and has actively been involved in community, charity and social work for the last 17 years in Kenya.

The person wanted for the crime goes by the name of Peter Ochoi Okuri (originally from Butere) and was employed with the family for the last 5 years (He and his wife were also treated as part of the family and housed & supported, including monetary support for having kids). The crime was committed in cold blood on the 18th of July 2007, where he tied & gagged the victim and strangled her before systematically & selectively robbing the house of transportable valuables. Peter and his wife also informed visitors who chanced by that Mrs.Jain was asleep and didn't want to see them. He then fled with his wife and kids and has not been seen since. The victim was found by the husband when he came home for lunch and though rushed to the hospital, medics were unable to revive her.

This was not a crime of vengeance, nor a racial issue. While punishment cannot change what's already occurred…or bring back a gentle, generous wife, mother and valuable member of the community, a person capable of committing a cold-blooded crime of this nature and intensity needs to be brought to justice in order to protect society against further senseless losses. It was an Indian mother this time…the next could just as well be a Kenyan mother or your beloved family member, friend or neighbour…someone who's needed and still has so much to give to our society.

This is an appeal to every Kenyan citizen, resident and friend of Kenya – please pass on this email with the attached photograph to your contacts and they to theirs…if anyone has seen this man, they should immediately contact the Kisumu or local police.
